Yaqi holds an LL.M. in International Dispute Resolution from IE Law School, a J.D. from Indiana University Bloomington, an LL.B. from China University of Political Science and Law, and has also completed a summer program at the University of California, Davis. She has served as Interview Series Rapporteur at Switzerland Very Young Arbitration Practitioners and has been a mentee with California Arbitration, Young ITA, the Moot Alumni Association, and the American Society of International Law. Her interests center on the intersection of global trade, investment, and arbitration with environmental and human rights norms, and the peaceful settlement of disputes in the context of global governance and sustainable development. Her experience spans the World Trade Organization in Geneva, the United Nations in New York, the California Air Resources Board, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, the Beijing Changping District People's Court, and international law firms including Sidley Austin and King & Wood Mallesons. She has published two works on international arbitration and is a First Prize winner of the China WTO Moot Court Competition.
